What We Do

Key Initiatives and Ongoing Activities

At the heart of DBTG is the commitment to promote continuous improvement in dry bulk terminal operations, with a special focus on safety, efficiency, and environmental responsibility. Our core activities reflect a strong culture of knowledge-sharing and collaboration in a non-commercial, global setting.

DBTG facilitates the ongoing exchange of ideas, concerns, and best practices among members. We actively develop training schemes, safety benchmarking initiatives, and tools for operational data sharing, all designed to improve the performance and sustainability of dry bulk terminals worldwide.

Through the International Dry Bulk Terminals Association (IBTA)—a joint venture with CETOA—DBTG participates in Working and Correspondence Groups at the International Maritime Organization (IMO) and within UN frameworks.

DBTG also works closely with international partners such as CETOA, NAEGA, PEMA, IAPH (International Association of Ports and Harbours), FEPORT, WBS (Warwick Business School), SMI (Society Maritime of Industries) and PSS (Port Safety&Skills) and Clarksons’ Research to ensure alignment on intergovernmental and policy matters.

Beyond operational & technical content, we strive to raise awareness of DBTG’s mission, expand global membership, and strengthen our development opportunities. Our goal is to offer a high-quality member experience and ensure long-term value and sustainability for our community.
